They are a welcome change from always partying inside a club in capitals. Plus, you can feel the holiday/vacation spirit throughout, everyone is just there to let go. Guys are so friendly. Those boats are a great way to meet new boys eager to have good times far away from the city life or their family.

There are two kinds of gay boats : Party or Relax cruise. Whether you go for a gay boat party or a chillax more intimate yacht trip (or both) these day cruises actually run all year long thanks to Gran Canaria being a main gay tourism destination hub, and something its cousin Mykonos does not have: an all year long summer tropical micro-climate, meaning you can experience summer vibes, even in December, January or February.

The only other gay destination on the planet with the same advantage as Gran Canaria is on South America´s West coast, it is Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. However, it is mainly aimed at Americans because it is quite far for Europeans, and two, it is much more expensive (everything cost twice as much than Maspalomas)

Whether you call it winter escape or winter sun destination, Gran Canaria is THE only one that is both at the same time: in Europe and gay.

A. NAKED BOAT

MEN ONLY NAKED BOAT PARTY

The Men Only Nkd Gay Boat Party is clothing-optional. It is organised weekly, every Friday (formerly every Thursday).

It has become a landmark in several gay communities: nudist, fetish, leather, cruising, and more. Fun fact, given its amazing scenery and concept, it has become a trending location for OnlyFans and JustForFans guys to tape their latest video in a corner of the boat. That´s free show for ya. Lots of fun.

This boat is always Men Only.

The Naked Boat party provides open bar (self-served unlimited Mojitos, bottles of alcohol, beers and softs) as well as an all-you can eat buffet. Free food includes paella, the specialty of the Canary Islands ¨Canarian potatoes¨ and snacks.

The music on this boat is EDM/Techno/House/Circuit music.

Dress Code: No dress code, naked, cruising gear (fetish, leather, harnesses, jockstrap, etc) beachwear, bare feet.

Special editions are also organised during prides with a bigger boat and big deejays. It is recommended to buy these ahead of time as they always sell out and you can get early birds prices.

Pros:

• Unlimited everything
• Great mojitos. Self-served. Make your own drinks and refill yourself (just like in house parties).
• Nice buffet available all the way through (outside of prides).
• Very fun.
• Things ¨happen¨ around. ;)
• Clothing is really optional. No pressure if you keep your swimwear on. (usually more than half are going for the naturist spirit)
• Pick up in Playa del Ingles. Boat is only less than 10 minutes nearby in Maspalomas Port Pasito Blanco
• Intention wristbands. They help in knowing everyone´s ¨availability¨.
• Different types of men. All shapes and sizes.
• Swim stop in front of Maspalomas Gay Beach so you can see it from a different perspective.
• Naked men
• Bedroom downstairs.

Cons:

• No announcements once in the boat. (people unsure when they can get naked, but then, once the first guy is doing it, all who wants to follow)
• Announcements in the bus not very clear. Most important info: ¨you can get naked as soon as the boat have left the harbor¨ and ¨do not take pictures of others without their consent¨.
• It feels super short (because it´s so much fun. But would love a ¨longer¨ option; and even a night option)
• Boat captain is straight and makes lame straight jokes.
• Outside of prides:: Not much dancing. (the boat itself doesnt have a dancefloor. During prides, the bigger boat does)
• During Prides:: no buffet or hard liquor (mojitos and beer still unlimited). Plates are served at some point and since there are no announcements you might miss it. This is due to renting a bigger boat with a different service.

B. APOLLO SUNSHINE GAY BOAT PARTY CRUISE

SUNSET CRUISE POP GAY ANTHEMS BOAT

During Maspalomas Prides. This is the original gay boat party in Gran Canaria, with different parties from ¨Apollo Sunshine¨, ¨Pride Boat Maspalomas¨, ¨Sunset Cruise¨ to ¨Bottoms Up¨, it all happens here.

While the Naked Boat is more of a cruising bar on a boat, this one is more like a normal dancing bar/discotheque on a boat. Also it is not clothing optional. Then, the music is pop music rather than house music.

It also has a unlimited alcohol, but only Sex-on-the-Beach cocktails, beers and Sangria. (no hard liquor as opposed to the Naked Boat).

The age group is the entire gay community. From 18 to 65+. It is for all LGBT+. And during prides it has men only dates.

Pros:

• Bigger dancefloor than the Naked Boat. Lots of dancing.
• Timeless pop anthems everyone knows (YMCA, etc…).
• Very fun.
• Unlimited sex-on the beach, sangria, and beer.
• Free food.
• Well structured with clear announcements in English all the way through by the host Tarkan who manages the event like a veteran radio host with cues and all. You won´t miss your food as that is announced too.
• Pick up in Playa del Ingles
• Nicer landscapes because departure more West. You get to see Puerto de Mogan, Anfi Del Mar, Puerto Rico, etc. And even Tenerife from far.
• Different types of men. (all shapes and sizes)

Cons:

• No included hard liquor (vodka, etc…) but available for extra. (The free sex-on-the beach, sangria and beer do the job though)
• Food only served in plates later in the party (no buffet), but does the job.
• Port is a little further (20 minutes in the bus).

C. SATURDAY

VENUS PAN BOAT PART (OPEN MINDED, MIXED, RAINBOW+)

On Saturday there is the mixed Boat party, it is THE main boat party of Gran Canaria running along different party ¨Venus¨, ¨Pan¨, ¨Open-Minded¨ and ¨Volcanic¨ because it is a boat for every party people regardless of their genders and all sexual preferences. Straights, gays, pansexuals, bisexuals, bi-curious, DL, lesbians, trans, non-binary, 2-spirits, unlabeled all come together. Boys and girls all welcome. When the party ends in Ibiza it continues in Gran Canaria as we say here. Expect deep house music, pop and reggaeton.

Drink to your heart’s content at the open bar with mojitos, sangria and beer, softs drink and of course water. Food is served on plate: from paella to chicken. With Canarian potatoes and salad.,

Big dancefloor upstairs. Free banana ride is included. Those who want take advantage to cheaper watersports than if reserved on land such as Jetski and paragliding can at a 50% discount.

Mixed party are one of a kind, you like ¨straight¨ men?? You might secure a curious or DL ¨straight¨ guy because this is not officially a gay boat.

Looking to be more surrounded by flamboyant gays? You might locate them waving their cunty fans and being loud. Just say ¨hi¨.

Age group: everyone.

Dress code : No dress code. Summer/Beachwear, flip flops. (Not naked possible as opposed to Gay Men Only Naked Boat).

Pros:

• Big dance floor. Lots of dancing.
• Unlimited Drinks
• 200 people average weekly all year.
• Big boat with many bathrooms (small lines)
• Very fun
• Lots of Erasmus people
• Mystery if some guys are gay or straight, but that can be a con.
• Swim stop with a slide to the water.
• Announcements in English and Spanish
• Deejay every week.

Cons

• No food announcement. Go get your plate once you see people eating before they run out. Because people keep refilling their plates until it runs out.
• You have to pay 1 buck in cash for your cup (prepare a euro coin). This is for ecology purpose, to make you keep it and refill it.
• Unclear if some guys are gay or straight but that can be a pro for those who like challenges.
• Hard liquor only available for extra.
• Smoking only in one spot in the back of the boat. (can be a pro for non smokers)
